Peu apr\u00e8s, les Am\u00e9ricains, entr\u00e9s en guerre, prennent l&rsquo;affaire en main. Il y aura huit centres d&rsquo;hydravions en France dont six en Bretagne (\u00cele-Tudy, Camaret, Brest, Penz\u00e9, Tr\u00e9guier et Lilia-Plouguerneau). Ils ont pour mission de prot\u00e9ger les convois am\u00e9ricains contre les mines et les sous-marins allemands. Les Am\u00e9ricains s&rsquo;installent \u00e0 Enez-Terc&rsquo;h, d\u00e8s janvier 1918. Ils y construisent un campement de baraques en bois, t\u00f4les, fibrociment destin\u00e9 \u00e0 accueillir 500 hommes de troupe et 40 officiers.<\/p>\n<p>Le camp est autonome (centrale TSF \u00e9lectrique, r\u00e9serve d&rsquo;eau&#8230;). Les hydravions (appareils \u00e0 coque) y sont au nombre de dix-neuf. Une cale a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite pour acheminer du mat\u00e9riel depuis l&rsquo;Aber-Wrac&rsquo;h ; une autre pour tracter les hydravions jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 deux grands hangars.
